The Son of Neptune
by Rick Riordan

This book has caused me a lot of stress: First, I have to wait a year to read it and now, I have to wait another year for the next book. Aggravating.

The Son of Neptune is the second book to the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan. The Lost Hero was the first book. The next book is The Mark of Athena (coming Fall, 2012.)

Anyway, here's what the book is about: Percy Jackson has lost his memory and eight months of his life. He has been in a deep sleep. When he wakes up, he embarks on a journey to Camp Jupiter.   Juno, or Hera, is the mastermind of the Greek Demigods (Percy) with the Roman Demigods (Camp Jupiter).   So that they can defeat Gaea, otherwise known as Mother Earth.  Percy soon finds two great friends at Camp Jupiter, Frank and Hazel.   They learn that they are three of the seven demigods in the Great Prophecy and strive to win against the impossible threats that try to stop them.....

Will they survive? Or will Gaia prevail and destroy the young demigods?
Read. Read The Son of Neptune to find out. I really enjoyed reading this book. I would give it a 10/10, five stars, and award, or whatever. It's action packed and trust me you won't be able to put it down for a second.

The Invisible City by M.G. Harris

Will the world survive 2012?  Oh, wait!  I should probably start at the beginning, shouldn't I?

I read this book because, #1:  It looked interesting.  #2:  My friend read it and said it was a good book.  It turns out that both reasons are correct.  I would give this book a 4.5 pm a 1-5 scale.

The Invisible City, the first book of The Joshua Files series, is about a boy who finds out his archeologist dad died in a plane crash in Mexico.  He goes on a deadly adventure to find out the true reason his dad died.

Josh and his friends, Olivia and Tyler decipher an ancient letter which leads them to go to Mexico.  There, Josh meets a step-sister he never knew he had. Before long, she is killed, too.

Along this hair-raising adventure, Josh realized that his dad wasn't killed for any ordinary reason.  He was murdered because he was looking for a long-lost Mayan codex that told of the end of the Mayan calendar, or December 22, 1012.  Otherwise known as the "End of Days."

He also finds out that the city of Ek Noab, a place that barely anyone knows bout, is REAL.  An invisible city?! You want to know the rest?  Read the book.

The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

Well, before I tell you about the book, I'd like to ask if you've read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.  If you have, good.  If you haven't, I recommend you do before you read The Lost Hero.  This book is out of a series called the Heroes of Olympus, which is like a sequel series to the Percy Jackson series.  With that out of the way, I will tell you some of the story.

Just like the front cover says:  "Jason has a problem, Piper has a secret and Leo has a way with tools."

Jason has lost all of his memories and wakes up on a bus holding hands with his "supposedly" girlfriend, Piper.  Things don't get better--storm spirits try to kill them but Jason fights some off.  Coach Hedge isn't as lucky and was captured.

Annabeth and Butch take them to Camp Half-blood.  Along the way she explains that Percy (her boyfriend) is missing. At camp, which was for half mortal, half god kids, Jason, Piper and Leo (Jason's friend from the bus) are sent on a quest.  They are sent because they are 3 of the 7 demigods of the prophecy.  They have 4 days to save Hera and Piper's dad who has been kidnapped.

I'm not going got tell you what happens.  You are going to have to read the book to find out.  I absolutely loved this book.  It is exciting, funny, sad and REALLY good!  I read it in 2 days (even though it is 560 pages!)  If you like adventure, you'll love the book, The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan.
